The rights package provides full territorial exclusivity across all platforms, including linear and digital, enabling broadcasters to maximize reach, strengthen brand positioning, and deliver seamless multi-platform experiences to audiences.

The partnership between the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and European athletics began in 1981 and, with the contract now renewed to the end of 2031. The aim of this partnership is to promote athletics and offer content to sports fans worldwide, giving them the opportunity to watch the best European athletes compete across all disciplines for the European title.
The agreement covers the worldwide media rights for European Athletics’ major events through to 2031. These include the flagship European Athletics Championships, with the next edition taking place in Birmingham, United Kingdom, in August 2026.
Other events covered by the agreement are the European Athletics Indoor Championships, the biennial European Athletics Team Championships (1st to 3rd divisions), the annual European Cross-Country Championships and the European Athletics U18, U20 and U23 Championships.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) longstanding partnership with World Aquatics continues until 2026, securing exclusive media rights across Europe.
2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore made history as the first Southeast Asian city to host the Championships, bringing together over 2,500 elite athletes from 210 national federations. Competitions spanned six vibrant disciplines: swimming, water polo, diving, artistic swimming, open water swimming, and high diving.
European athletes once again proved their excellence, generating thrilling performances and memorable podium moments across all disciplines. Fans were treated to a spectacular blend of athleticism and artistry—whether in the grace of artistic swimming, the precision of diving, the power of water polo, or the speed and endurance of swimming and open-water events.
The event further cemented Europe’s prominent role in global aquatics. EBU coverage brought over 2,000 hours of championship action to free‑to‑air audiences, reinforcing Europe’s connection to and passion for the sport.

UCI events bring together the world's top cyclists across all disciplines, with athletes competing for the prestigious rainbow jersey awarded to world champions. To ensure these high-level competitions reach a wide audience, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has secured the European media rights to major UCI World Championships through 2031.
The renewed agreement covers all major disciplines for both Men’s and Women’s competitions across Road, Track, Mountain Bike, BMX Racing, BMX Freestyle, Cyclo-cross (including rounds of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup) Urban and Gravel, as well as the quadrennial UCI Cycling World Championships which combines all disciplines above and additional ones.
This new agreement guarantees EBU Member broadcasters access to an unmatched portfolio of cycling content, enabling them to reach and engage cycling fans year-round.
UCI events deliver world-class cycling competitions throughout the year, captivating a broad and diverse audience across all age groups. Building on the success of the inaugural combined UCI World Championships in 2023, the next editions are scheduled for 2027 and 2031, promising even more thrilling moments for cycling fans worldwide.

In 2024, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.) extended their long-standing partnership through 2030, ensuring continued free-to-air coverage of the Tour de France, the crown jewel of international cycling. This renewed agreement reinforces the Tour’s role as a cornerstone of the European sports calendar and a flagship event for public service media.
The Tour de France remains the world’s most prestigious and iconic cycling race. Held every summer, the event spans 21 stages over 23 days—including two rest days—crossing France and frequently passing through neighbouring countries. The race traditionally begins on a Saturday in late June or early July and concludes in Paris with a spectacular finish on the Champs-Élysées.
Each stage presents its own tactical challenges: the dramatic high mountain climbs, fast-paced flat sprints, rolling hilly segments, and the intense individual time trials. This demanding format attracts the world’s best riders, combining elite athleticism with thrilling day-by-day competition.
Beyond the physical challenge, the Tour offers broadcasters an unmatched storytelling platform—blending rich heritage, world-class production values, and stunning landscapes with compelling human drama. Its position in the summer calendar ensures broad reach and strong engagement across European markets, making it a highlight of the global sports season. The 2027 edition's complete route is expected to be unveiled around October 2026.
Vuelta a España
The Vuelta a España, widely known as La Vuelta, is one of cycling’s three prestigious Grand Tours, alongside the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia. Held annually, this three-week race features 21 stages over 23 days, including two rest days. It traditionally begins on a Saturday in late August and concludes on a Sunday.
Although the route varies each year, the race format remains consistent—typically including challenging passages through the Pyrenees, Asturias, and Cantabrian mountain ranges, before culminating with a spectacular finish in Madrid, the Spanish capital. The route of the 2027 edition is set to be revealed in December 2026.

Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift
Mirroring the prestige of the men’s event, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift has quickly become the most iconic women’s race on the international cycling calendar. Since its inaugural edition in 2022, it has captured widespread enthusiasm, drawing thousands of fans to the roadside to witness the world’s top female cyclists in action.
The race spans 9 stages over 9 days, featuring the same four distinct stage profiles as the men’s Tour - flat, hilly, mountainous, and time trial - each demanding a different combination of skill, strategy, and endurance. The Tour de France Femmes continues to elevate women’s cycling, combining elite performance with growing global attention.
La Vuelta Femenina
Building on the recent successes of the Tour de France Femmes and its predecessor, the Ceratizit Challenge, Unipublic has elevated the event by launching the Vuelta Femenina in 2023. This new race is positioned at the highest level of the Women’s World Tour as one of the premier women’s “Grand Tours,” alongside the Tour de France Femmes and the Giro d’Italia Women.
Expanded to a 8-day stage race covering over 700 km, La Vuelta Femenina brings together the world’s best female riders for a full week of intense competition as they race to win one of the three women’s “Grand Tours” and achieve their dream of victory.

One of cycling’s most historic races, Paris-Nice is an 8-day stage race typically held in mid-March. It often begins in the chilly, wintry conditions of central France before heading south towards the sunny Côte d’Azur. The race usually concludes with a dramatic final stage, finishing either on the iconic Promenade des Anglais in Nice or at the top of the challenging Col d’Èze, a mountain pass on the scenic Haute Corniche near the city.
Volta a Catalunya
Taking place in late March, the Volta a Catalunya is a prestigious 7-day stage race and a key event on the UCI World Tour. The race traverses the diverse terrain of Catalonia in northeastern Spain, including at least one demanding stage in the Pyrenees mountains. The event traditionally concludes in Barcelona, with a thrilling finish on the famous Montjuïc climb and park.
Critérium du Dauphiné
Held over 8 stages and 8 days in the first half of June, the Critérium du Dauphiné features a challenging route through the Alps, including many climbs and passes that are also part of the Tour de France. Known as the perfect warm-up event, it offers top riders a vital preparation race ahead of July’s Tour de France.

This iconic one-day race takes place in northern France, covering over 250 kilometers. Known as one of cycling’s oldest and toughest races, Paris-Roubaix is famous for its challenging rough terrains and notoriously difficult cobblestone sections.
Liège-Bastogne-Liège
Also known as La Doyenne (The Old Lady), this Belgian one-day classic is the oldest of the five “Monuments” in professional road cycling, first held in 1892. It is considered as one of the most arduous races in the world due to its length and a relentless series of steep climbs.
Flèche Wallonne
This one-day race also organized in the Ardennes region of Belgium is usually held right before Liège-Bastogne-Liège. The unique characteristic of the race is The Mur de Huy with several sections as steep as 26%.
Clasica San Sebastian
This is a one-day road race organized in the Basque Country. It is considered a race of great prestige and is the most important one-day race in Spain. Covering approximately 230 kilometers, the race is known both for its stunning coastal views and the demanding Alto de Jaizkibel climb.
Eschborn-Frankfurt
Often called the Frankfurt Grand Prix, this annual classic race starts in Eschborn and finishes in Frankfurt, Germany. It is traditionally held every May 1st.
Hamburg Cyclassics
Held every August, this one-day classic race features a predominantly flat course. Known as a “Sprinters’ Classic,” it often concludes with a fast-paced bunch sprint.
Paris-Tours
Paris-Tours is a French one-day race, which takes place every October between the suburbs of Paris and the cathedral city of Tours. The traditional race course has been changed since 2018, now incorporating unpaved gravel tracks in vineyards inside the final 60 kilometers, thus adding a new layer of challenge.
Tro Bron Leon
Tro Bro Leon is a race held annually around the town of Lannilis, France. Covering over 200 kilometers, the course includes numerous narrow, unpaved farm tracks that challenge riders' endurance and technical skills. Its rural setting and unpredictable conditions make it one of the most distinctive races in the calendar.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG) are proud to announce the renewal and further strengthening of their successful partnership, bringing the Mediterranean Games Taranto 2026 and the Mediterranean Beach Games Portimão-Lagoa 2027 to audiences free-to-air across Europe, North Africa and beyond.
The collaboration builds on a pioneering relationship that began with the acquisition of Mediterranean Games rights for Oran 2022 and continued at the Mediterranean Beach Games Heraklion 2023, playing an important role in expanding the reach and profile of the Games as one of the world's leading regional multi-sport events.
Taranto 2026 will run from 21 August to 3 September and feature 31 sports. Alongside established disciplines such as athletics, swimming, gymnastics and volleyball, the programme reflects the Games' evolving nature with the addition of 3x3 basketball, padel, skateboarding and roller sports.
The following year, Portimão and Lagoa, in Portugal's Algarve, will host the Beach Games from 11 to 18 September, the first time a Western European country has staged the event. The programme includes beach volleyball, beach soccer, kiteboarding, open water swimming and beach sprint rowing.
